James Turner, Gibsonville continued his perfect season in Friday night’s feature at Wake County Speedway. The 74 year young speedster has got America’s Favorite Bullring figured out this season. Turner held off Midlothian,Va. driver Mack Tatum to win the feature event for the Vintage Southern Ground Pounders. Chase Parsons won the Modified portion of the event. Jerry Jefferies, Gene Williamson and Jim Lambert rounded out the field in event. Please send prayers Corey Agee’s way, the Martinsville,Va. driver stayed home with his daddy. The next event for the touring series will be August 30 at Ace Speedway.

Wake County Speedway news and notes: the August 22nd event at the track will feature the Eastern Midgets making their first ever stop at the 1/4 mile bullring plus a full racing card including the Metal Depot Late Model Division where the bounty on Goldsboro’s Clay Jones continues. The Super Late Models will make a return to Wake County Speedway on August 30, 2014. This will be a Saturday Night Showdown featuring the regions finest superstars including young gun Brandon Setzer, “Charging” Charlie Stephenson, “Big” Jim Kelley, “Racing” Randy Renfrow, Jody Measamer driving the Aqua Vapor hotrod and Curtis Simpkins among the early entries! Three Thousand dollars to win a 100 lap feature.The Allison Legacy Touring Series will also be in the house. Jeremy Ottaway Wins Fan Appreciation Thriller At Wake County Speedway

Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh was victorious Friday evening on Fan Appreciation Night at America’s Favorite Bullring.The winner of the Pepsi/ Mt.Dew UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini Mayhem held off Sanford speedster Justin Fussell to make a 2014 trip to victory lane. Raleigh’s10430372_686113954797100_8001011919495032859_n Chris Gault won the 4 Cylinder race within a race. Clay Jones, Goldsboro roared back through the field to win the 50 lap feature event in his Pro Coat Ford Fusion in the Metal Depot Late Model race. Austin Janocha, Clayton was your winner in the 15 lap Bandolero feature with William Trip, Jr. winning the 25 lap feature for the Legends. The Bomber division continues to grow and the winner, the Griswold Family Truckster had fans on their feet,cheering with excitement.

Ricky Jones,McGee’s Crossroad had a great run to finish in the runner up position. Virginia’s Lin O’Neil had a strong run crossing the stripe in 3rd place followed by Thomas Chapell, Stem and Garner’s Alex Fleming in 4th and 5th place.

The 15 lap Bandoleros feature winner, Austin Janocha had another great run holding off Kade Lambert, Burlington and Ethan Johnson,Fuquay to visit victory lane.The Broadbent brothers, Henry and Zandyr rounded out the top 5 finishers.

Tripp,Jr., roared to victory in the 25 lap Legends event,the popular competitor held off a hunger pack to win in his call #911 hotrod.Tripp had to hold off the fast and furious Justin Mitchell, Jason Austin, Zack Brown and Chris 1899975_686113898130439_8603336910136321016_nStancil to score the victory.

Wake County Speedway is all about families and fun and the Gault family celebrated in victory lane with 2 podium finishes.Chris Gault, Raleigh won the 25 lap feature event over Jonathan Kornegay, Goldsboro and Kristen Gault, Raleigh. The cars of Dwayne Godwin and Patrick Arch grabbed top 5 finishes.

The Bomber division continues to grow and if you have an interest to race this could be your division. The Griswold Family Truckster complete with a cooler, picnic basket and Carolina Blue Luggage roared to victory over Neon Vernon, the Streaker, 13X and “Dan The Man”.

Jones Wins Atlantic Resources Night At Wake County Speedway In Photofinish

Atlantic Resources night at races was an action packed evening with 6 feature events and 6 divisions in action at “America’s Favorite Bullring”. The Metal Depot Late Model twin 30 lap feature winner was Goldsboro speedster Clay Jones who turned the double,picking up both trips to victory lane in his Ford. The Bandolero Feature winner was Austin Janocha, the Legends feature winner was Will Bristol and the Pro 4 Modified feature winner was Raleigh’s Keith Oliver.The Pepsi/ Mountain Dew Kickstart UCAR/ 4 Cylinder winners were Darrell Haynie,Raleigh and Sanford’s Justin Fussell in the combo event.

Willow Spring veteran “Racing” Randy Renfrow and Clay Jones had the fans on their feet after the first 30 lap event for the Metal Depot Late Model superstars was a photofinish with Renfrow and Jones roaring out of turn 4 on the final lap side by side to the checkered flag with Jones grabbing the win at the stripe by a bumper! Fuquay-Varina driver Steve Smith continues to impress with a strong run in his ServiceMaster special to come home in 3rd place followed by Alex Fleming and Thomas Chapell rounding out the top 5 finishers.

The Bandolero feature winner was Austin Janocha who visited victory lane after turning back challenges from Ethan Johnson and Ben Myrick. Janocha thanked his family, fans and friends after the 15 lap feature event.

Will Bristol held of Justin Mitchell in the hotly contested 25 lap Legends event that was filled with numerous cautions. Zack Brown finished in the 3rd position with Jason Austin and Chris Dyerly roaring under the checkered flag in 4th and 5th place.

Raleigh’s Keith Oliver made his first 2014 trip to victory lane in the Pro 4 Modified event holding off Garner’s Dennis “The Dominator” Capps in his PreCast Ford. Oliver held off a trio of Capps Motorsports cars as third place Aaron Champion and Raleigh driver Matthew Denton in 4th are out of the Capps stable of hotrods. Mark Hovis, Fayetteville brought the ALS Awareness Ford Fusion home in 5th place.

The Pepsi/ Mountain Dew KickStart UCAR/ 4 Cylinder mini mayhem feature winner was Sanford’s Justin Fussell who held off Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh and Knighdale’s Jessie Richardson,Jr. to make another victory lane appearance. Ron Dupont and Michael Woodard had great runs finishing in 4th and 5th place. The winner of the UCAR portion of the event, Raleigh wheelman Darrell Haynie also wins the “Atta Boy” award for never giving up and finding and fixing the gremlins that had kept him out of victory lane this season.

The evening events wrapped up with Clay Jones,Goldsboro making his second victory lane trip in the Metal Depot Late Model feature.Jones held off Steve Smith, Alex Fleming, GarnerTodd Langdon, Garmer and Bobby Gower, Raleigh in the nightcap.

The “Race To Richies” $500,000 contest continues July 25 where 1 lucky fan from the grandstands and 1 pitside member is drawn for a possible shot at the cash at the season ending banquet. Dillon Wilson Wins Metal Depot 100 At Wake County Speedway

Hickory’s Dillon Wilson roared to victory last night in the Late Model big money race at Wake County Speedway. The UCAR/4 Cylinder winners were Justin Fussell, Sanford and Ron Dupont in his Richard Aliff prepared Honda UCAR in the
Pepsi/Mountain Dew feature event. Austin Janocha was standing in victory lane with a great Bandolero win, Dillon Spain continued his winning ways in the Legends division and Roxboro’s Brandon Baker took 10464164_662640680477761_2339391170577471610_ndown the win in the Modified 4 Division.

The first big money, extra distance race of the season for the Metal Depot Late Model division was a thriller, a little lighting in the air and a lot of fireworks on the track. The start of the feature found Bradley McCaskill, Knightdale and Willow Spring driver Randy Renfrow leading the field to the green flag. McCaskill and Renfrow traded the early lead with a hungry pack of drivers behind them. Clay Jones, Goldsboro 1513792_662640853811077_5433191414107837633_nwas making his way through the field and lead at the halfway mark and picked up the $1000.halfway bonus money. The second half of the event saw the Hickory speedster, Dillon Wilson flex his muscle and streak into the lead.The Fireworks started in the pack as the laps ran down and when the beating and banging had finished, Raleigh’s Bobby Gower and Clay Jones,Goldsboro rounded out the top 3 finishers.Steve Smith, Fuquay-Varina had a great run in his ServiceMaster machine running 4th with Garner’s Todd Langdon and his State Farm,Powertech Washing Ford rounding out the top 5. In victory lane Wilson thanked his fans, family, crew and sponsors. The speedster saved his equipment and tires early and was rewarded with the big paycheck.

The Bandoleros feature winner was Austin Janocha, Clayton who streaked under the waving checkered flag followed by point leader Kade Lambert, Ethan Johnson and the Broadbent family, Henry and Xander in their Rowan Home Restoration Bandoleros.10406384_662640900477739_7098665794067889616_n

Dillon Spain, Clayton bounced back from a crash earlier in the day to win the Legends feature. The young gun started shotgun on the field and raced his way through the field to win another 2014 trip to victory lane. Kenneth Tripp,Jr. ran
strong again, finishing in 2nd place with Justin Mitchell, Goldsboro; Zach Brown, Holly Springs and Caleb Day, Garner your top 5 when the checkered flag flew.

Brandon Baker, Roxboro has taken a liking to America’s Favorite Bullring. The driver of the Summey Electric Ford won the 25 lap Pro 4 Modified feature holding off multi-time track champ Dennis “The 10452362_662640643811098_1468784193592256926_nDominator” Capps in his Cleveland Drafthouse Ford. Raleigh’s Keith Oliver came home in 3rd place followed by Matthew Denton, Raleigh and Fayetteville’s Mark Hovis.

The UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini Mayhem feature event winners were Sanford’s Justin Fussell and Ron Dupont. Dupot’s win in the feature was his first at Wake County Speedway. The top five finishers of the combo event were: Fussell, JeremyOttaway,Raleigh, Dupont, Jonathan Kornegay and Joey Morgan.

$2000 To Win Summer Bash 100 At Wake County Speedway This Friday June 13, 2014

Wake County Speedway is hosting this year’s first special event of the season this Friday night at America’s favorite bullring. The Metal Depot Late Model stars and cars will battle,all seeking to grab the big money. Twenty plus cars are expected from the tri-state area. Goldboro speedster Clay Jones, Knightdale’s Bradley McCaskill and a host of other drivers are all looking to be in victory lane after 100 laps. Drivers eligible to win the big money have run at least the last 3 features at the track if they haven’t they are still eligible for a $500 halfway bonus and $1000 to win.

The Pepsi/ Mt.Dew Kick Start UCARS/ 4 Cylinder warriors will run a 25 lap feature event with Raleigh driver Jeremy Ottaway, Justin Fussell, Saford and Hickory’s A.J. Saunders plus UCAR driver Patrick Arch from Clayton all vying for another trip to victory lane.

Dennis “The Dominator” Capps will be looking to extend his point lead in the 25 lap Modified Four Cylinder event.The multi time track champion has his eyes on yet another title with a strong opening night victory. Dillon Spain, Clayton is having a storybook season in the Legends Division. The Clayton Comet is having a fantastic season at the bullring and will be looking once again for the checkered flag in the 20 lap race for the Legends. Kade Lambert headlines a great field of young gun’s in the 15 lap Bandolero feature.
