The Largest Super Late Model race in Wake County Speedway history is capping off a great hot August night of racing action at America’s Favorite Bullring. The Aqua Vapor E-Cig 285 will feature the finest Super Late Model drivers in the Southeast running a 100 lap feature event paying $3000.00 to the victor! The Cooper Chargers will be making their 1st 2014 season appearance also running 100 laps of up close, in your face racing entertainment paying $1000.00 to win. The Mini Mayhem 4 cylinders are running a 50 lap feature paying $750.00 to win. The Allison Legacy Series will round out the huge racing card!

The Super Late Model early entries include a who’s who of veterans and young guns: Renfrow, Stephenson, Fleming, Measamer, Setzer, Simpkins, Allison and Kelley plus the big money event could draw cars from the Southern, Midwest and Northern Touring Series. The $3000. to win event will bring out the finest superstars in the region!

The Allison Legacy Touring Series roars into the bullring for a 40 lap feature event and the racing action has been fast and furious wherever the series has been. The return of the “New” Alabama Gang featuring Pocono winner Justin Allison, Robbie Allison (Davey Allison’s son) and HOF drivers Bobby and Donnie Allison to the county will make a special night only more special.Bring your sharpies and camera’s for this fun night. A tie for the points lead between Connell and Moody; Strickland winning Hickory; Ruggles, Bedford, Jones plus Jantzen Stirewalt add up to a great night of action.

The Cooper Charger division drivers from the tri-state region will be beating and banging, gunning and running all wanting that big payday from Adam Resnick. The Mini Mayhem 4 Cylinder feature, 50 laps paying $750.00 to win will feature the finest stars and cars from far and wide. The local Wake County drivers will face off with stiff competition from a host of cars from Downeast, Virginia and South Carolina. Fussell, Ottaway and the county’s finest will throwdown against Smith, Clements and a host of Eastern bandits.

The 2 day action packed weekend starts with the pits opening at 4pm on Friday August 29 and practice running from 6pm til 10 pm. A 2 day pit pass is only $45;Friday only $20. On Saturday the action really kicks it up!The pits open at 12pm,Tech Shed opens 12:15pm,Grandstands open at 2:45 and Drivers meeting 2:15,practice begins at 3pm and ends at 5pm,Qualifying at 5:30, the Last Chance Race at 7pn and the features start at 7:15.

Fussell Wins ALS Challenge At Wake County Speedway

Sanford Speedster Justin Fussell turned back all challenger’s on fight ALS night at Wake County Speedway in the 25 lap feature for the Pepsi/Mt.Dew UCAR/ 4 Cylinder Mini Mayhem event. Clay Jones,Goldsboro continued his winning ways in the 50 lap Metal 10590461_699736906768138_4875465127706732392_nDepot Late Model feature. Billy Hall grabbed another victory in the Legends feature while Austin Janocha won the 15 lap Bandolero feature. The traveling series Eastern Midgets made their 1st ever appearance at the speedway and Chris Lamb won the 30 lap feature event. The Bomber class was won by Clark Griswold aka Hitman.

The Friday night festivities were highlighted by the 50/50 drawing with Adam Resnick matching the pot and collecting $500.00 for the ALS Foundation. Young Gun Austin Janocha held off hard charging Ethan Johnson to make a victory lane trip in the 15 lap Bandolero feature event.

Jason Austin roared under the checkered flag in 3rd place with Kenneth Tripp,Jr. Raleigh and Stephen Ford,Willow Spring coming home in 4th and 5th place.

 The Eastern State Midget Touring Series victory winner was Chris Lamb. Blaine Leydig was the runner up in the 30 lap feature with Nolan Allison, Tyler Corriher and New Jersey’s Nikki Carroll your top 5 finishers.

Justin Fussell, Sanford ran a great race to visit victory lane in the 25 lap Pepsi/Mt.Dew UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini-Mayhem feature. The 50 lap Metal Depot Late Model feature winner was Goldsboro’s Clay Jones. Jones continued his magic to make another trip to victory lane holding off Garner wheelman Alex Fleming. Jones and his Pro Coat Chevy have got America’s Favorite Bullring figured out this 2014 racing season. Garner’s Todd Langdon. Raleigh’s Bobby Gower and Fuquay-Varina driver Steve Smith rounded out the top 5 positions.

The hot August nights celebration continues next weekend August 29th and 30th as the Super Late Model Shootout, the Allison Legacy Touring Series, the Chargers and the 4 Cylinder Mini- Mayhem come to town for a 2 day speedfest. The Allison brothers, Bobby and Donnie from the Alabama Gang plus Pocono winner, Justin Allison and Davey’s son Robbie will all be in the county next Saturday for the $3000.00 to win 100 laps SLM Shootout.the $1000.00 to win Charger event, the Allison Legacy Cars feature event and the 50 lap Mini-Mayhem event. James Turner, Gibsonville continued his perfect season in Friday night’s feature at Wake County Speedway. The 74 year young speedster has got America’s Favorite Bullring figured out this season. Turner held off Midlothian,Va. driver Mack Tatum to win the feature event for the Vintage Southern Ground Pounders. Chase Parsons won the Modified portion of the event. Jerry Jefferies, Gene Williamson and Jim Lambert rounded out the field in event. Please send prayers Corey Agee’s way, the Martinsville,Va. driver stayed home with his daddy. The next event for the touring series will be August 30 at Ace Speedway.

Wake County Speedway news and notes: the August 22nd event at the track will feature the Eastern Midgets making their first ever stop at the 1/4 mile bullring plus a full racing card including the Metal Depot Late Model Division where the bounty on Goldsboro’s Clay Jones continues. Jeremy Ottaway Wins Fan Appreciation Thriller At Wake County Speedway

Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh was victorious Friday evening on Fan Appreciation Night at America’s Favorite Bullring.The winner of the Pepsi/ Mt.Dew UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini Mayhem held off Sanford speedster Justin Fussell to make a 2014 trip to victory lane. Clay Jones, Goldsboro roared back through the field to win the 50 lap feature event in his Pro Coat Ford Fusion in the Metal Depot Late Model race. Austin Janocha, Clayton was your winner in the 15 lap Bandolero feature with William Trip, Jr. winning the 25 lap feature for the Legends. The Bomber division continues to grow and the winner, the Griswold Family Truckster had fans on their feet,cheering with excitement.

Ricky Jones,McGee’s Crossroad had a great run to finish in the runner up position. Virginia’s Lin O’Neil had a strong run crossing the stripe in 3rd place followed by Thomas Chapell, Stem and Garner’s Alex Fleming in 4th and 5th place.

The 15 lap Bandoleros feature winner, Austin Janocha had another great run holding off Kade Lambert, Burlington and Ethan Johnson,Fuquay to visit victory lane.The Broadbent brothers, Henry and Zandyr rounded out the top 5 finishers.

Wake County Speedway is all about families and fun and the Gault family celebrated in victory lane with 2 podium finishes.Chris Gault, Raleigh won the 25 lap feature event over Jonathan Kornegay, Goldsboro and Kristen Gault, Raleigh. The cars of Dwayne Godwin and Patrick Arch grabbed top 5 finishes.

Jones Wins Atlantic Resources Night At Wake County Speedway In Photofinish

Atlantic Resources night at races was an action packed evening with 6 feature events and 6 divisions in action at “America’s Favorite Bullring”. The Metal Depot Late Model twin 30 lap feature winner was Goldsboro speedster Clay Jones who turned the double,picking up both trips to victory lane in his Ford. The Bandolero Feature winner was Austin Janocha, the Legends feature winner was Will Bristol and the Pro 4 Modified feature winner was Raleigh’s Keith Oliver.The Pepsi/ Mountain Dew Kickstart UCAR/ 4 Cylinder winners were Darrell Haynie,Raleigh and Sanford’s Justin Fussell in the combo event.

Willow Spring veteran “Racing” Randy Renfrow and Clay Jones had the fans on their feet after the first 30 lap event for the Metal Depot Late Model superstars was a photofinish with Renfrow and Jones roaring out of turn 4 on the final lap side by side to the checkered flag with Jones grabbing the win at the stripe by a bumper! Fuquay-Varina driver Steve Smith continues to impress with a strong run in his ServiceMaster special to come home in 3rd place followed by Alex Fleming and Thomas Chapell rounding out the top 5 finishers.

The Bandolero feature winner was Austin Janocha who visited victory lane after turning back challenges from Ethan Johnson and Ben Myrick. Janocha thanked his family, fans and friends after the 15 lap feature event.

Will Bristol held of Justin Mitchell in the hotly contested 25 lap Legends event that was filled with numerous cautions. Zack Brown finished in the 3rd position with Jason Austin and Chris Dyerly roaring under the checkered flag in 4th and 5th place.

Raleigh’s Keith Oliver made his first 2014 trip to victory lane in the Pro 4 Modified event holding off Garner’s Dennis “The Dominator” Capps in his PreCast Ford. Oliver held off a trio of Capps Motorsports cars as third place Aaron Champion and Raleigh driver Matthew Denton in 4th are out of the Capps stable of hotrods. Mark Hovis, Fayetteville brought the ALS Awareness Ford Fusion home in 5th place.

The Pepsi/ Mountain Dew KickStart UCAR/ 4 Cylinder mini mayhem feature winner was Sanford’s Justin Fussell who held off Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh and Knighdale’s Jessie Richardson,Jr. to make another victory lane appearance. Ron Dupont and Michael Woodard had great runs finishing in 4th and 5th place. The winner of the UCAR portion of the event, Raleigh wheelman Darrell Haynie also wins the “Atta Boy” award for never giving up and finding and fixing the gremlins that had kept him out of victory lane this season.

The evening events wrapped up with Clay Jones,Goldsboro making his second victory lane trip in the Metal Depot Late Model feature.Jones held off Steve Smith, Alex Fleming, GarnerTodd Langdon, Garmer and Bobby Gower, Raleigh in the nightcap.

The “Race To Richies” $500,000 contest continues July 25 where 1 lucky fan from the grandstands and 1 pitside member is drawn for a possible shot at the cash at the season ending banquet.
