Resources 185 At Wake County Speedway This Friday

The 2014 racing season at Wake County Speedway wraps up this coming Friday evening as the Atlantic Industrial Resources 185 will be presented. The evening will include a 100 lap feature for the Metal Depot Late Model division plus a full card of racing excitement. The Pepsi/Mt. Dew UCAR/ 4 Cylinder combo feature will run 25 laps; the Legends division will also run a 25 lap feature. The closest point battle in the battle for the 2014 track championship will be decided Friday evening in the Bandolero division as only 4 points separate leader Austin Janocha, Clayton and hard charging Ethan Johnson, Fuquay Varina in the division. The Bomber class is also on tap with a 15 lap feature.

The $500 bounty is still up for grabs on Goldsboro’s Clay Jones in the Metal Depot division. Who can stop the speedster in the Late Model division? Late Model drivers will be able to get 2 sticker tires, 2 scuffs for only $250. and a halfway bonus will pay $500 ($1000 if qualified) so the potential payday could be as much as $3600 to 1 lucky driver in the Metal Depot Late Model division.

The $500,000 Race to Richies contest continues where 1 lucky fan or pitside member could win the big money. Oliver Wins Feature and Championship At Wake County Speedway

The 2014 racing season for the Pro 4 Modified stars and cars wrapped up this past Friday evening and Raleigh’s Keith Oliver grabbed both the win and the 2014 championship for the division. The other winners on the action packed evening included Clay Jones,Goldsboro in the Metal Depot Late Model Division who won both twin 30 lap features. Clayton’s Austin Janocha roared to victory in the Bandolero feature with multi-time winner Dillon Spain winning the 25 lap Legends feature. Sanford speedster Justin Fussell won the 25 lap Pepsi/Mt. Dew UCAR/4 Cylinder portion of the event with Raleigh’s Darrell Haynie winning the UCAR portion of the 25 lap feature.

Clay Jones has been a dominate force all year long in the Metal Depot Late Model division as he picked up both 30 lap wins. In the 1st race, Jones held off Fuquay-Varina’s Steve Smith with Garner driver Alex Fleming crossing the stripe in 3rd place. Young gun Corey Walker ran 4th while Garner’s Todd Langdon rounded out the top 5 positions. The 30 lap night cap saw Jones, Fleming,Smith. Walker and Timberlake’s Thomas Chappell your top 5 finishers.

Clayton’s Austin Janocha held off Ethan Johnson, Lindsey Rifenburg and Jonathan Turner to win the 15 lap Bandolero feature. Dillon Spain, Clayton held off Billy Hall to win the 25 lap Legends feature. Stephen Ford,Willow Spring had his best run of 2014 to cross under the stripe in 3rd place with Tyler Janocha and Zach Brown rounding out the top 5.

Raleigh’s Keith Oliver did everything he needed to do to win the 2014 Pro 4 Modified title;he won the race and the Championship with his victory. Garner’s Dennis “The Dominator” Capps did everything he could to win another title but came home with a 2nd place finish. Aaron Champion, Matthew Denton,Raleigh and Raleigh’s Randy Ayers rounded out your top 5 finishers.

Wake County Speedway will wrap up the 2014 racing season on September 19th with a full night of racing excitement on Champions Night. Nolan’s Heating and Cooling Inc. 155 This Friday at Wake County Speedway

The 2014 season is coming into the home stretch at “America’s Favorite Bullring”with 2 races left. The Metal Depot Late Model division has twin 30 lap features on tap plus can anyone stop Clay Jones and his Pro Cast Chevy? The $500 bounty in still up for grabs to whoever can stop Clay’s winning streak. The 25 lap Pepsi/Mt. Dew UCAR/4 Cylinder plus 25 for the Legends and a 15 lapper for the Bandolero division are also highlights of the evening. The final race for the Pro 4 Modified division a 30 lapper will decide the 2014 Championship which is too close to call. It’s a barnburner between Keith Oliver and Dennis Capps with Oliver holding a slight point lead coming into the evening.

The 2014 season has been highly competitive in every class with photo finishes and close bumper to bumper action the norm at the county. The “Race To Richies” contest continues where 1 lucky fan and 1 lucky pitside member has a chance to win $500,000. The contest rules are posted on the Wake County website. Fussell Wins ALS Challenge At Wake County Speedway

Sanford Speedster Justin Fussell turned back all challenger’s on fight ALS night at Wake County Speedway in the 25 lap feature for the Pepsi/Mt.Dew UCAR/ 4 Cylinder Mini Mayhem event. Clay Jones,Goldsboro continued his winning ways in the 50 lap Metal 10590461_699736906768138_4875465127706732392_nDepot Late Model feature. Billy Hall grabbed another victory in the Legends feature while Austin Janocha won the 15 lap Bandolero feature. The traveling series Eastern Midgets made their 1st ever appearance at the speedway and Chris Lamb won the 30 lap feature event. The Bomber class was won by Clark Griswold aka Hitman.

The Friday night festivities were highlighted by the 50/50 drawing with Adam Resnick matching the pot and collecting $500.00 for the ALS Foundation. Young Gun Austin Janocha held off hard charging Ethan Johnson to make a victory lane trip in the 15 lap Bandolero feature event.

Jason Austin roared under the checkered flag in 3rd place with Kenneth Tripp,Jr. Raleigh and Stephen Ford,Willow Spring coming home in 4th and 5th place.

 The Eastern State Midget Touring Series victory winner was Chris Lamb. Blaine Leydig was the runner up in the 30 lap feature with Nolan Allison, Tyler Corriher and New Jersey’s Nikki Carroll your top 5 finishers.

Justin Fussell, Sanford ran a great race to visit victory lane in the 25 lap Pepsi/Mt.Dew UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini-Mayhem feature. Adam Murray had a great run to come under the waving checkered flag in 2nd place followed by Raleigh’s 10616538_699736723434823_576172677832921837_nDarrell Haynie, Jessie Richardson,Jr.,Knightdale and Kristen Gault, Raleigh.

The 50 lap Metal Depot Late Model feature winner was Goldsboro’s Clay Jones. Jones continued his magic to make another trip to victory lane holding off Garner wheelman Alex Fleming. Jones and his Pro Coat Chevy have got America’s Favorite Bullring figured out this 2014 racing season. Garner’s Todd Langdon. Raleigh’s Bobby Gower and Fuquay-Varina driver Steve Smith rounded out the top 5 positions.

The hot August nights celebration continues next weekend August 29th and 30th as the Super Late Model Shootout, the Allison Legacy Touring Series, the Chargers and the 4 Cylinder Mini- Mayhem come to town for a 2 day speedfest. The Allison brothers, Bobby and Donnie from the Alabama Gang plus Pocono winner, Justin Allison and Davey’s son Robbie will all be in the county next Saturday for the $3000.00 to win 100 laps SLM Shootout.the $1000.00 to win Charger event, the Allison Legacy Cars feature event and the 50 lap Mini-Mayhem event. Friday night practice will run from 6 pm til 10 pm with the Big Show on Saturday. Six divisions competing in six action packed events will have fans on their feet this coming Friday night,May 2,2014 at Wake County Speedway. The Metal Depot Late Models, Pepsi Kick Start UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini Stock Mayhem, Legends,

Bandoleros and Bombers will all battle at America’s Favorite Bullring.

The Knightdale speedster, Andrew Grady has started off the 2014 racing season red hot; winning 4 out of 5 races to open the season. Grady will look to continue his winning ways in the highly competitive Metal Depot Late Model division in his ABC Hoisery Hotrod where car counts have been over 20 cars strong. Twin 30 lap features are scheduled for Friday evening.

The Pepsi Kick Start UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini Stock combo event is 25 laps of up close, in your face racing excitement and A.J.Saunders in the 4 cylinders and Patrick Arch in the UCARS will once again put on a show for the fans. 25 cars competed in the feature on opening night and these warriors put on a great show last time out before mother nature pulled the plug early. Jeremy Ottaway and his father have their Mustang running well and will be a threat to win as well.

Dillon Spain leads a hungry group of veterans and young guns in the Legends division which will run a 25 lap feature event. The popular Bandolero division young lions will compete in a 15 lap feature event. The newest division at Wake County Speedway, the Bombers will compete in a 20 lap feature.

Wake County Speedway is located off Highway 401 South, Raleigh,N.C. on Simpkins Road. Fuel,Tires and Track Rental are available during the week.
