Jeremy Ottaway Wins Fan Appreciation Thriller At Wake County Speedway

Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh was victorious Friday evening on Fan Appreciation Night at America’s Favorite Bullring.The winner of the Pepsi/ Mt.Dew UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini Mayhem held off Sanford speedster Justin Fussell to make a 2014 trip to victory lane. Raleigh’s10430372_686113954797100_8001011919495032859_n Chris Gault won the 4 Cylinder race within a race. Clay Jones, Goldsboro roared back through the field to win the 50 lap feature event in his Pro Coat Ford Fusion in the Metal Depot Late Model race. Austin Janocha, Clayton was your winner in the 15 lap Bandolero feature with William Trip, Jr. winning the 25 lap feature for the Legends. The Bomber division continues to grow and the winner, the Griswold Family Truckster had fans on their feet,cheering with excitement.

10532358_686113924797103_6793211325929949785_nGoldsboro native Clay Jones continued his quest for the 2014 track championship for the Metal Depot Late Model division with family,friends and crew from victory lane.The speedster came back through the field to grab the win. Ricky Jones,McGee’s Crossroad had a great run to finish in the runner up position. Virginia’s Lin O’Neil had a strong run crossing the stripe in 3rd place followed by Thomas Chapell, Stem and Garner’s Alex Fleming in 4th and 5th place.

The 15 lap Bandoleros feature winner, Austin Janocha had another great run holding off Kade Lambert, Burlington and Ethan Johnson,Fuquay to visit victory lane.The Broadbent brothers, Henry and Zandyr rounded out the top 5 finishers.

Tripp,Jr., roared to victory in the 25 lap Legends event,the popular competitor held off a hunger pack to win in his call #911 hotrod.Tripp had to hold off the fast and furious Justin Mitchell, Jason Austin, Zack Brown and Chris 1899975_686113898130439_8603336910136321016_nStancil to score the victory.

Wake County Speedway is all about families and fun and the Gault family celebrated in victory lane with 2 podium finishes.Chris Gault, Raleigh won the 25 lap feature event over Jonathan Kornegay, Goldsboro and Kristen Gault, Raleigh. The cars of Dwayne Godwin and Patrick Arch grabbed top 5 finishes.

The Bomber division continues to grow and if you have an interest to race this could be your division. The Griswold Family Truckster complete with a cooler, picnic basket and Carolina Blue Luggage roared to victory over Neon Vernon, the Streaker, 13X and “Dan The Man”.

Jones Wins Atlantic Resources Night At Wake County Speedway In Photofinish

Atlantic Resources night at races was an action packed evening with 6 feature events and 6 divisions in action at “America’s Favorite Bullring”. The Metal Depot Late Model twin 30 lap feature winner was Goldsboro speedster Clay Jones who turned the double,picking up both trips to victory lane in his Ford. The Bandolero Feature winner was Austin Janocha, the Legends feature winner was Will Bristol and the Pro 4 Modified feature winner was Raleigh’s Keith Oliver.The Pepsi/ Mountain Dew Kickstart UCAR/ 4 Cylinder winners were Darrell Haynie,Raleigh and Sanford’s Justin Fussell in the combo event.

Willow Spring veteran “Racing” Randy Renfrow and Clay Jones had the fans on their feet after the first 30 lap event for the Metal Depot Late Model superstars was a photofinish with Renfrow and Jones roaring out of turn 4 on the final lap side by side to the checkered flag with Jones grabbing the win at the stripe by a bumper! Fuquay-Varina driver Steve Smith continues to impress with a strong run in his ServiceMaster special to come home in 3rd place followed by Alex Fleming and Thomas Chapell rounding out the top 5 finishers.

The Bandolero feature winner was Austin Janocha who visited victory lane after turning back challenges from Ethan Johnson and Ben Myrick. Janocha thanked his family, fans and friends after the 15 lap feature event.

Will Bristol held of Justin Mitchell in the hotly contested 25 lap Legends event that was filled with numerous cautions. Zack Brown finished in the 3rd position with Jason Austin and Chris Dyerly roaring under the checkered flag in 4th and 5th place.

Raleigh’s Keith Oliver made his first 2014 trip to victory lane in the Pro 4 Modified event holding off Garner’s Dennis “The Dominator” Capps in his PreCast Ford. Oliver held off a trio of Capps Motorsports cars as third place Aaron Champion and Raleigh driver Matthew Denton in 4th are out of the Capps stable of hotrods. Mark Hovis, Fayetteville brought the ALS Awareness Ford Fusion home in 5th place.

The Pepsi/ Mountain Dew KickStart UCAR/ 4 Cylinder mini mayhem feature winner was Sanford’s Justin Fussell who held off Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh and Knighdale’s Jessie Richardson,Jr. to make another victory lane appearance. Ron Dupont and Michael Woodard had great runs finishing in 4th and 5th place. The winner of the UCAR portion of the event, Raleigh wheelman Darrell Haynie also wins the “Atta Boy” award for never giving up and finding and fixing the gremlins that had kept him out of victory lane this season.

The evening events wrapped up with Clay Jones,Goldsboro making his second victory lane trip in the Metal Depot Late Model feature.Jones held off Steve Smith, Alex Fleming, GarnerTodd Langdon, Garmer and Bobby Gower, Raleigh in the nightcap.

The “Race To Richies” $500,000 contest continues July 25 where 1 lucky fan from the grandstands and 1 pitside member is drawn for a possible shot at the cash at the season ending banquet. USAC Honda HPD Eastern Midget Series Added To Action Packed Night At Wake County Speedway

The action at America’s Favorite Bullring,Wake County Speedway just got a little hotter with the addition of the USAC Honda HPD Eastern Midget Series to Friday nights USAC Midgetsracing card. The open wheel warriors arrived yesterday to practice for their feature and 13 year old Calvin Carroll from Andover,N.J. turned   impressive lap times on the 1/4 mile asphalt oval. Carroll stated after practice runs he liked running the bullring and his lap times were in the 13.3 second range,comparable to the speeds turned by the Metal Depot Late Model division. Current point leader,Scott Hunter, Walled Lake, Mich and 11 year old Nikki Carroll, the youngest competitor in the series plus the Brown and Noffsinger Racing crew all gained valuable experience at the county.

USAC MIdgetsThe Metal Depot Late Model drivers will run a 50 lap feature event Friday night; the Pepsi/ Mountain Dew Jump Start UCAR/ Stock 4 Cylinder stars will run twin 20 lap feature events plus the Legends and Bandolero divisions will run 25 and 15 lap features.The Open-Wheel rockets,the USAC Honda HPD Eastern Midgets feature is TBD.

The summer has just arrived but the season long chase in the ” Race To Richies” point championship battle is heating up as well with Clay USAC Midgets(1)Jones, Wilson leading Bradley McCaskill, Knightdale in the Late Models.Dennis Capps, Garner leads Roxboro’s Brandon Baker in the Modified 4 class. Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh leads Sanford Speedster Justin Fussell in the Stock 4 class with Dwayne Godwin leading Patrick Arch in the Pepsi/ Mt.Dew UCAR Division. Dillon Spain leads on the Legends Division with Kade Lambert leading the Bandolero Division.

$2000 To Win Summer Bash 100 At Wake County Speedway This Friday June 13, 2014

Wake County Speedway is hosting this year’s first special event of the season this Friday night at America’s favorite bullring. The Metal Depot Late Model stars and cars will battle,all seeking to grab the big money. Twenty plus cars are expected from the tri-state area. Goldboro speedster Clay Jones, Knightdale’s Bradley McCaskill and a host of other drivers are all looking to be in victory lane after 100 laps. Drivers eligible to win the big money have run at least the last 3 features at the track if they haven’t they are still eligible for a $500 halfway bonus and $1000 to win.

The Pepsi/ Mt.Dew Kick Start UCARS/ 4 Cylinder warriors will run a 25 lap feature event with Raleigh driver Jeremy Ottaway, Justin Fussell, Saford and Hickory’s A.J. Saunders plus UCAR driver Patrick Arch from Clayton all vying for another trip to victory lane.

Dennis “The Dominator” Capps will be looking to extend his point lead in the 25 lap Modified Four Cylinder event.The multi time track champion has his eyes on yet another title with a strong opening night victory. Dillon Spain, Clayton is having a storybook season in the Legends Division. The Clayton Comet is having a fantastic season at the bullring and will be looking once again for the checkered flag in the 20 lap race for the Legends. Kade Lambert headlines a great field of young gun’s in the 15 lap Bandolero feature.

Clay Jones Wins At America’s Favorite Bullring: Wake County Speedway

The weather was cool last night but the action on the track was red hot at Wake County Speedway. Goldsboro speedster Clay Jones picked up another win on the season in the Metal Depot Late Model 50 lap feature. Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh and Patrick Arch, Clayton were victory lane bound in the 25 lap UCAR/ 4 Cylinder Pepsi Kick Start Mini-Mayhem feature. Dillon Spain, Clayton won both 20 lap Legend features with Bandolero features winners Austin Janocha and Kade Lambert. Dennis “The Dominator” Capps,Garner was the Modified 4 Cylinder winner.

Clay Jones,Goldsboro started shotgun on the field in last night’s 50 lap Metal Depot Late Model event and drove through the field in his Pro Coating LM to secure another trip to victory lane. Jones fought hard in the hotly contested event with Raleigh’s Bradley McCaskill; rubbing and racing hard at America’s Favorite Bullring. Jones thanked his crew, his family, friends and fans from victory lane. Garner driver Alex Fleming finished in 2nd place followed by Bobby Gower and McCaskill with Dillon Wilson rounding out the top 5 finishers.

Twin Bandolero features produced 2 different victory lane celebrations.In the evenings 1st event Austin Janocha was your victor followed under the waving checkered flag by Kade Lambert, Bradley Wilson, Ethan Johnson and Dustin Yeoman. The 2nd feature event winner was Kade who held off Austin, Bradley, Dustin and Henry Broadbent.

The Legend drivers also ran twin features last night with Dillon Spain grabbing the “W” in both events. Spain held off Will Bristle, Jason Austin, Zack Brown and Caleb Day in the opening feature. The nightcap feature top five were Spain, Bristle, Austin, Day and Brenton Irving.

The first 2014 appearance of the Modified 4 Cylinder class had a familiar face in victory lane. Multi-time track champ Dennis “The Dominator” Capps, Garner had his Cleveland Draft Ford Fusion in the wind last night. Keith Oliver came home in 2nd place followed by Brandon Baker, Matthew Denton and A.J. Saunders.All results are unoffical pending tech results.

Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh has run great all season;he just needed to attend a wedding to seal the victory. The UCAR/ 4 Cylinder Pepsi Kick Start Mini-Mayhem feature winner also started shotgun on the field and roared to victory in the 25 lap feature event. Ottaway held off Justin Fussell,Apex, A.J. Saunders , Jessie Richardson,Knightdale and Michael Tucker. Patrick Arch, Clayton was your winner in the UCARS over Kristin Gault,Raleigh, Jim Bounds, Dwayne Godwin and Dallas Stephenson.
