The USAC HPD Ignite series is coming to Wake County Speedway, June 27, 2014.  For the first time the USAC HPD Ignite series will be racing around the 1/4 mile bull ring in Raleigh, NC.  The series has hit a number of NC tracks in the past, with 2014 including a stop at “The County”.

2014 racing season for Wake County Speedway kicks into high-gear with the Drivers Meeting

The 2014 racing season for Wake County Speedway kicks into high-gear with the Drivers Meeting this Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm in the infield at the tech shed. The 2014 race schedule features 14 action packed Friday night’s at America’s favorite Bullring.Six divisions lead by the Metal Depot Late Model Stock Car class will run every other Friday Night starting April 4,2014.

Metal Depot Late Model Stock, U-Car/ Four Cylinder Combo, Legends, Bandoleros, Pro-Four Modifieds and our new Bomber division are classes that run throughout the year plus Touring Series.

Two big money,100 lap features for the Metal Depot Late Model Stock Division will pay $2000. to win; $1000. at the halfway point and $1000. when the checkered flag drops.Run 3 of the previous 5 events to be eligible for the big money.The Best Tire Deal Anywhere in the U.S.A. is at Wake County Speedway:1 new tire every week on a Track Rim for $160 for the Metal Depot Late Model Stocks.Sunoco Racing Fuels will once again reward the fastest LMS qualifier $100. pole money during the 2014 season. Setzer Wins $3000 Season Finale At Wake County Speedway

Hickory speedster Brandon Setzer has been a front runner all season long at Wake County Speedway and Friday night he turned back all challengers to win the Aviator Brewery 100 lap feature event. One of the best crowds of the season witnessed a great night of racing action at America’s favorite bullring, other big winners included Alex Fleming in the Walls Roofing U-Car/ C Mini Mart 4 cylinder winner Jeremy Ottaway combo feature event. The Dirt Cheap Sand and Gravel Legend feature winner was Dillon Spain with multi-time track champ Dennis “The Dominator” Capps winning the Mt.Dew Kick Start feature. Alex McCollum won in the exciting Wilson Backhoe & Septic Bandoleros feature.

Thank you fans,drivers and car owners for helping make this year so special at Wake County Speedway.A huge field of Bandoleros opened the evening after Prayer and a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.Young gun, Alex McCollum turned back a pack of hard chargers to win the exciting Wilson’s Backhoe Feature event.

Brandon Setzer,Hickory took home the big money 100 lap Aviator Brewery Late Model Stock victory over Garner’s Joe Heigl. Setzer worked his way through the field after the 50 lap break, picking off drivers one by one until the checkered flag waved. Heigl’s Performance Auto Body runner up finish locked up the 2013 track championship. Andrew “Shady” Grady Raleigh had a great run to come home in 3rd place with Robert “The Outlaw” Arch and Ricky Turner rounding out the top 5 finishers.

The Dirt Cheap Sand and Gravel Legend feature winner was Dillon Spain. Spain has had his car dialed in this year and picked up another trip to victory lane. Following Spain under the stripe was Billy Hall in 2nd place. Raleigh’s Stephen Ford had the best run of his 2013 season,his first in Legends, to nail down a strong 3rd place finish . The Ford family burned the midnight oil alot last week getting the Quality Lightning Protection Legend ready. Fayetteville’s Billy Gomez, Jr. and car #3 crossed under the stripe in 4th and 5th place.Your 2013 track champion ls Dillon Spain.

Multi-time track champion and feature winner, Dennis “The Dominator” Capps doubled down in the Mountain Dew Kick Start Pro 4 Modified cars winning both the feature and capturing the 2013 track championship. Capps from Garner had his Cleveland Draft House Ford in the wind to capture his 9th championship. Ronnie Denton,Raleigh ran 2nd to cap off a great night for Capps Motorsports. Kevin Flores,Billy Tillman and Matthew Denton rounded out your top 5 finishers.

Wake County Speedway would like to thank everyone for coming out during the 51st Anniversary Celebration. The crowds,the giveaways and all of that up close in your face racing action made for great night at the speedway. The fifty-first season of stock car auto racing at America’s favorite “Bullring” wraps up this Friday night at Wake County Speedway. A huge field of Aviator Brewery Late Model drivers will all be gunning for the $3000.00 to win 100 lap feature with current point leader Joe Heigl, Garner, Brandon Setzer, Hickory and the tri-states finest warriors ready to throw down. The division continues to grow and we could see 10-15 late model superstar’s show for the big money event!

The Mountain Dew Kick Start Modified 4 cylinder division will run 30 laps, the Walls Roofing U-Cars/ C Mini-Mart 4 cylinder stars will run 25 laps, the Dirt Cheap Sand and Gravel Legends will run 25 laps and the Wilson’s Backhoe and Septic Bandoleros will run 15 laps.

News and notes: A big Wake County Speedway thank you to Roger Holt and Yankee for providing the Kevin Harvick Hood and Car for the ALS and Driver Point Fund Raffle. Thank you in advance for supporting this cause. New Aviator Late Model driver “Showtime” Sammy Pacitti should make the field after getting a carb for his hotrod. Andrew “Shady” Grady also has his Late Model ready for battle.Modified 4 driver Matthew Denton will return with a new engine in his rocketship. Good guy, Darrell Haynie, who loves to go fast and have fun was shaking down his U-Car car for the 25 lap feature.

Setzer, Heigl Grab Wins On Fan Appreciation Night At Wake County Speedway

New stars and cars from central Virginia and the tidewater region greeted a great group of fans Friday night at Wake County Speedway. Fan Appreciation Night at America’s favorite bullring was a huge success with multiple giveaways courtesy of Aviator Brewery,Red Robin Restaurant,Tripps Restaurant/Walls Roofing and R.E.I. Outdoors of Cary.Winners for the evening included; Maddy Ryan, Brandon Setzer, Dillon Spain, Robert Arch, Justin Fussell and Joe Heigl.

The Wilson Backhoe and Septic Bandoleros 15 lap feature event was won by Maddy Ryan for her 2nd win of the 2013 racing season. Ryan’s car was on the money as she streaked to victory. Bradley Wilson ran a strong race to nail a 2nd place finish followed by Hunter Hansen,Clayton is the Rockside Tires Bandolero. Point leader Kade Lambert and Ethan Johnson rounded out the top 5 finishers.

The Aviator Brewery Late Model Division winner of the 1st twin 30 lap feature was Hickory speedster Brandon Setzer. Setzer was in the groove during the race, turning wicked fast laps to hold off point leader Joe Heigl, Garner and his Performance Auto Body LMS. Garner’s Todd Langdon and his State Farm,Powertek Washing,Shear Shack ran a great race to roar under the checkered flag in 3rd place with Cory Walker,Apex and Ricky Jones rounding out the top 5 finishers.

6 wins on the season for Young Gun Dillon Spain and his team at the New Wake County Speedway this year. Spain held off Billy Hall and Fayetteville driver Billy Gomez, winning the Dirt Cheap Sand and Gravel 25 lapper. Legends cars #3 and #98 roared under the stripe in fourth and fifth place.

Week in and week out the Walls Roofing U-Cars/ C Mini Mart 4 cylinder drivers put on an amazing show and tonight was a wild one. The “Outlaw” Robert Arch has had a season to write home about; 10 wins in 10 Walls Roofing U-Car events this year. Arch used a 3 wide pass coming out of turn 4 to grab the win .Justin Fussell roared under the flag in 2nd place followed by Alex Fleming and Scott Liles.

The nightcap race of the evening, the Aviator Brewing Late Model second 30 lap twin event winner of the evening was current point leader Garner’s Joe Heigl. Heigl won for the 6th time during the season holding off the winner of the 1st race, Brandon Setzer and Ricky Jones.Todd Langdon,Cory Walker and the Va. cars of #1 Va. and #02.Thank you guy’s for towing down and running with us.

Wake County Speedway will close out the 2013 racing season on September 6,2013. $3000.00 dollars to win 100 laps on the 1/4 mile bullring for the Aviator Brewery Late Models plus racing in all divisions.5 Feature events including 6 divisons of up close in your face racing excitement.
