Wake County Speedway Roars Into Action This Friday May 16, 2014

Seven action packed features including the return of the Mighty Pro 4 Modified division highlight this weekend’s show at Wake County Speedway. America’s Favorite Bullring will be running the Metal Depot Late Models in a 50 lap feature event. The Pepsi/ Mt. Dew Kick-Start UCAR/ 4 Cylinder Mini Mayhem combo stars and cars will run 25 laps as will the Mighty Pro 4 Modifieds. Twin 20 lap feature events for the Legends plus Twin 15 lap features for the Cooper Bandoleros will round out the evenings events.

News and Notes from pits: Summertime is still a few weeks away but the action on the track is hot and heavy in the Metal Depot Late Model Division. Goldsboro speedster Clay Jones is your points leader and he will look to keep his winning streak going in the highly competitive division. Jeremy Ottaway,Raleigh is leading the points in the 4 Cylinder mini mayhem division with Patrick Arch,Clayton leading the UCAR points race. Dillon Spain,Clayton is your leader in the Legends class with Kade Lambert leading the Cooper Bandelero divison.

Wake County Speedway is located off Highway 401 South,Raleigh,N.C. on Simpkins Road. Grandstands open at 6:00 pm with practice starting at 7:00 pm.Qualifying and Feature events follow at 8:00 pm. Six divisions competing in six action packed events will have fans on their feet this coming Friday night,May 2,2014 at Wake County Speedway. The Metal Depot Late Models, Pepsi Kick Start UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini Stock Mayhem, Legends,

Bandoleros and Bombers will all battle at America’s Favorite Bullring.

The Knightdale speedster, Andrew Grady has started off the 2014 racing season red hot; winning 4 out of 5 races to open the season. Grady will look to continue his winning ways in the highly competitive Metal Depot Late Model division in his ABC Hoisery Hotrod where car counts have been over 20 cars strong. Twin 30 lap features are scheduled for Friday evening.

The Pepsi Kick Start UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini Stock combo event is 25 laps of up close, in your face racing excitement and A.J.Saunders in the 4 cylinders and Patrick Arch in the UCARS will once again put on a show for the fans. 25 cars competed in the feature on opening night and these warriors put on a great show last time out before mother nature pulled the plug early. Jeremy Ottaway and his father have their Mustang running well and will be a threat to win as well.

Dillon Spain leads a hungry group of veterans and young guns in the Legends division which will run a 25 lap feature event. The popular Bandolero division young lions will compete in a 15 lap feature event. The newest division at Wake County Speedway, the Bombers will compete in a 20 lap feature.

Wake County Speedway is located off Highway 401 South, Raleigh,N.C. on Simpkins Road. Fuel,Tires and Track Rental are available during the week.

The finest stars and cars of the Tri-State region invade America’s Favorite Bullring this Friday evening with 6 action packed divisions. The Pepsi Kick Start 4 Cylinder/UCAR class will run twin 20 lap features, the Metal Depot Late  Model division will run 50 laps, the Legends will run 25 laps, the Bandoleros will run 15 laps and the Pro 4 Modified class will make it’s first 2014 appearance running a 25 lap feature.

Great racing action in the combo Pepsi Kick Start 4 Cylinder/UCAR class at the 1/4 bullring could find a new 2014 champ as Robert ” Outlaw ” Arch spotted for the team opening night.A strong field of competitors will run hard for points,money and remember : run 2 nights receive a free Hoosier the 3rd night!

The Metal Depot Late Model feature finds Andrew Grady riding a 3 race win streak and the young lion has been hot to start the 2014 season. Lee Furniture is putting up pole money again this Friday plus Adam Resnick has put up year end point money for running with Wake County this season. 21 superstars pulled into the county opening night ;the starting field was a who’s,who of east coast talent!

The Legends 25 lap feature was wild and wooley last time out with beating and banging going on through out the field.All points are National Points and we could see cars and drivers from Concord and Langley,Va. all chasing the checkered flag.The Bandolero drivers will run a 15 lap feature event.

The Pro 4 Modified field will be making it’s debut Friday night and multi-time Track Champion Dennis “The Dominator” Capps and a stellar field of speedster’s are expected.

Andrew Grady Sweeps Accent Imaging Night At Wake County Speedway

The Southern Ground Pounders Touring Series featuring vintage race cars always put on a great show and James Turner, 73 years young held off Mack Tatum to open the 2014 racing season. James Brown roared under the checkered flag in 3rd place with Chase Parsons and Thomas Clayton coming home in 4th and 5th place.

The Pepsi Legends Feature was a wild affair with great battles through out the field. 2013 Track Champion Dillon Spain won the hotly contested feature over Caleb Day.

The Bandolero feature winner was young gun Alex McCollum who held off Austin Janocha and Dustin Yeoman.  Henry Broadbent and Bradley Wilson rounded out the top 5 finishers in the action packed feature.

The UCAR/4 Cylinder feature winner was A.J. Saunders who held off Jeremy Ottaway and Brad Martin for the victory.

The 2nd 30 lap feature Metal Depot Late Model win went to Grady who doubled down grabbing both features. The action was fast and furious as McCaskill was able to nip Jones at the stripe. Dillon Wilson and Brandon Clements rounded out your top 5 finishers in the nightcap.

Packed in-field for opening night.

RALEIGH  – After a historic opening year, The New Wake County Speedway is racing into the 2014 season with a very rich opportunity for both fans and drivers.

The chance to win $500,000.stacks-of-money

The Simpkins Road speedway is hosting a 2014 “RACE TO RICHE$” giving fans and eligible drivers a shot at half-a-million dollars in prize money.

Race track president Adam Resnick said the event is a way for the speedway to thank every fan in the bleachers and all the drivers behind the wheel for their continued support.

During every Friday night race between April and September, one lucky fan will get an entry into the annual prize drawing along with every racer on the ¼ mile track.

The drawing will be held at The New Wake County Speedway’s year-end banquet on Nov. 7 at Rush Hour Karting, located at 5335 Raynor Rd in neighboring Garner.

One lucky winner will be drawn and receive a $500 cash prize and the chance to win $500,000.

The winner must be in attendance at the banquet to claim their cash prize and chance at riches. In addition, any driver drawn must have competed in 75% of speedway races or raced during Wake County Speedway’s special Super Late Model event on August 30.

If the lucky winner meets all eligibilities, they will get a chance to choose one bag out of 100, with one of the 100 bags holding a $500,000 prize.
