Jones Sweeps At Wake County Speedway; Bounty Continues

Goldsboro’s Clay Jones wheeled his Pro Coat Ford Fusion into victory lane twice Friday night at America’s Favorite Bullring. The action packed evening featured 7 divisions and 7 races on R.A.Jeffrey’s Budweiser Night At The Races.10152613_692579114150584_3232181058955164826_n

The Bandolero Division kicked off the evening’s card and after 15 exciting laps, multi-time winner Kade Lambert, Burlington held off Fuquay speedster Ethan Johnson, Virginia’s Bradley Wilson and Austin Janocha, Clayton for the victory. Kade thanked his fans, family and friends from victory lane.

10410416_692579014150594_429500625274594735_nA great night of action in the Legends Division saw Billy Hall in victory lane after 25 hard fought laps. Dwayne Holder, Dillon Spain, Clayton, William Tripp, Jr., Raleigh and Jason Austin rounded out the top 5 finishers.

The Pepsi/ Mountain Dew UCAR/ 4 Cylinder Mini- Mayhem winner Michael Rouse was just one of the down east invaders getting ready for the mini-mayhem race later in the season. Sanford speedster, Justin Fussell roared under the stripe in 2nd place with Adam Murray driving the Louis Clement Special in 3rd place in the 4 Cylinder segment of the combo event. Raleigh’s Darrell Haynie was victorious in UCAR class Haynie thanked God, his fans and family and stated from 10534706_692578920817270_5131956614330298609_nvictory lane that his McDonalds Honda continues to improve. Chris Gault,Raleigh held off Jonathan Kornegay to grab a fine 2nd place finish.

Roxboro’s Brandon Baker picked up another victory in the 25 lap Pro 4 Modified feature event.The driver of the Summey Electric Hotrod held off Raleigh wheelman Keith Oliver and Dennis “The Dominator” Capps to make a trip to victory lane. The Cleveland Draft House Capps Team of drivers rounded out the top 5 with Raleigh’s Matthew Denton and Clayton’s Aaron Champion.

The Bounty Hunters were locked and loaded but “Wheelman” Clay Jones had a better idea with his Ford. Jones started P2 for the first 30 lap feature and was victorious over Joe Heigl, Angier and his Performance Auto Body mount. “Racing” Randy Renfrow, Willow Spring crossed under the checkered flag in 3rd with Ricky Jones and Thomas Chapell rounding out the top 5 finishers. The Bounty was still up for grabs and Garner’s Alex Fleming held off Jones for the victory only to be DQ’ed in the room of doom;the tech shed. Jones held off Joe Heigl, Randy Renfrow, Ricky Jones and Virginia driver Lin O’Neil to score the win.

$500 Bounty On Jones For R.A. Jeffreys Budweiser Night At Wake County Speedway This Friday

The finest stars and cars of the tri-state region are set to roar into Wake County Speedway this Friday evening August 8,2014. The R.A. Jeffreys Budweiser night at the races featuring 7 classes of race cars in 7 exciting events just got better with a $500.00 bounty posted by Adam Resnick to any Metal Depot Late Model driver who can beat Goldsboro’s Clay Jones. Jones must be running at the end of either 30 lap feature event to collect the bonus.

The schedule for this Friday includes twin 30 lap features for the Metal Depot Late Models; 25 laps for the Pepsi/ Mountain Dew UCAR/ 4 Cylinder Mini Mayhem combo event. The second appearance of the Southern Ground Pounder Vintage Racing Series, the return of the Pro 4 Modified warriors running a 25 lap feature plus Legends and Bandolero classes running 25 and 15 lap feature events.

Jeremy Ottaway Wins Fan Appreciation Thriller At Wake County Speedway

Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh was victorious Friday evening on Fan Appreciation Night at America’s Favorite Bullring.The winner of the Pepsi/ Mt.Dew UCAR/4 Cylinder Mini Mayhem held off Sanford speedster Justin Fussell to make a 2014 trip to victory lane. Clay Jones, Goldsboro roared back through the field to win the 50 lap feature event in his Pro Coat Ford Fusion in the Metal Depot Late Model race. Austin Janocha, Clayton was your winner in the 15 lap Bandolero feature with William Trip, Jr. winning the 25 lap feature for the Legends. The Bomber division continues to grow and the winner, the Griswold Family Truckster had fans on their feet,cheering with excitement.

Ricky Jones,McGee’s Crossroad had a great run to finish in the runner up position. Virginia’s Lin O’Neil had a strong run crossing the stripe in 3rd place followed by Thomas Chapell, Stem and Garner’s Alex Fleming in 4th and 5th place.

The 15 lap Bandoleros feature winner, Austin Janocha had another great run holding off Kade Lambert, Burlington and Ethan Johnson,Fuquay to visit victory lane.The Broadbent brothers, Henry and Zandyr rounded out the top 5 finishers.

Wake County Speedway is all about families and fun and the Gault family celebrated in victory lane with 2 podium finishes.Chris Gault, Raleigh won the 25 lap feature event over Jonathan Kornegay, Goldsboro and Kristen Gault, Raleigh. The cars of Dwayne Godwin and Patrick Arch grabbed top 5 finishes.

The Bomber division continues to grow and if you have an interest to race this could be your division. The Griswold Family Truckster complete with a cooler, picnic basket and Carolina Blue Luggage roared to victory over Neon Vernon, the Streaker, 13X and “Dan The Man”.

This coming Friday evening Wake County Speedway is the place to be as the 52 nd Fan Appreciation Night celebration roars into “America’s Favorite Bullring”. The fun starts the moment you come through the gate thanks to our Late Model sponsor,Metal Depot as the first 1500 fans will receive Free can coolies! The action on the track continues to heat up with the Metal Depot Late Model cars and stars running a 50 lap feature, the Pepsi/ Mt.Dew Kickstart UCAR/ 4 Cylinder Mini-Mayhem warriors throwing down for 25 laps plus the Legend drivers will run twin 20 lap feature events. The Bandolero young guns will run a 15 lap feature and the Bombers will run a 20 lapper. The “Race To Richies” drawing continues where one lucky fan or one pitside member will have the opportunity to try and win a Half-A-Millon dollars at the season ending banquet

The Pepsi/Mt.Dew Kickstart UCAR/4 Cylinder division superstars put on a great show any time they hit the speedway and to reward the drivers a $200.00 random draw will be given to one lucky driver who competes Friday night. Jones Wins Atlantic Resources Night At Wake County Speedway In Photofinish

Atlantic Resources night at races was an action packed evening with 6 feature events and 6 divisions in action at “America’s Favorite Bullring”. The Metal Depot Late Model twin 30 lap feature winner was Goldsboro speedster Clay Jones who turned the double,picking up both trips to victory lane in his Ford. The Bandolero Feature winner was Austin Janocha, the Legends feature winner was Will Bristol and the Pro 4 Modified feature winner was Raleigh’s Keith Oliver.The Pepsi/ Mountain Dew Kickstart UCAR/ 4 Cylinder winners were Darrell Haynie,Raleigh and Sanford’s Justin Fussell in the combo event.

Willow Spring veteran “Racing” Randy Renfrow and Clay Jones had the fans on their feet after the first 30 lap event for the Metal Depot Late Model superstars was a photofinish with Renfrow and Jones roaring out of turn 4 on the final lap side by side to the checkered flag with Jones grabbing the win at the stripe by a bumper! Fuquay-Varina driver Steve Smith continues to impress with a strong run in his ServiceMaster special to come home in 3rd place followed by Alex Fleming and Thomas Chapell rounding out the top 5 finishers.

The Bandolero feature winner was Austin Janocha who visited victory lane after turning back challenges from Ethan Johnson and Ben Myrick. Janocha thanked his family, fans and friends after the 15 lap feature event.

Will Bristol held of Justin Mitchell in the hotly contested 25 lap Legends event that was filled with numerous cautions. Zack Brown finished in the 3rd position with Jason Austin and Chris Dyerly roaring under the checkered flag in 4th and 5th place.

Raleigh’s Keith Oliver made his first 2014 trip to victory lane in the Pro 4 Modified event holding off Garner’s Dennis “The Dominator” Capps in his PreCast Ford. Oliver held off a trio of Capps Motorsports cars as third place Aaron Champion and Raleigh driver Matthew Denton in 4th are out of the Capps stable of hotrods. Mark Hovis, Fayetteville brought the ALS Awareness Ford Fusion home in 5th place.

The Pepsi/ Mountain Dew KickStart UCAR/ 4 Cylinder mini mayhem feature winner was Sanford’s Justin Fussell who held off Jeremy Ottaway, Raleigh and Knighdale’s Jessie Richardson,Jr. to make another victory lane appearance. Ron Dupont and Michael Woodard had great runs finishing in 4th and 5th place. The winner of the UCAR portion of the event, Raleigh wheelman Darrell Haynie also wins the “Atta Boy” award for never giving up and finding and fixing the gremlins that had kept him out of victory lane this season.

The evening events wrapped up with Clay Jones,Goldsboro making his second victory lane trip in the Metal Depot Late Model feature.Jones held off Steve Smith, Alex Fleming, GarnerTodd Langdon, Garmer and Bobby Gower, Raleigh in the nightcap.
