Twin Summer Heat This Weekend At The New Wake County Speedway
By Mike Ray and Ms.Hotrod
The finest stars and cars of the tri-state region will roar into the New Wake County Speedway this Friday night June 28,2013 for another evening of racing excitement. 5 divisions will run with the Aviator Brewing Late Models headlining the action running twin 30 lap feature events. The Rockside Tire Legends will be running a 25 lap feature and these drivers put on a whale of a show two weeks ago. The Dirt Cheap U-Cars and the C-Mini-Mart Mayhem drivers will run a 25 lap combo feature at America’s Favorite Bullring. The Custom Brick and Supply Bandolero’s will round out the action packed evening at the 1/4 mile speedplant.
Wake County Speedway news and notes;Brandon Setzer,Hickory and Raleigh driver Joe Heigl had the fans on their feet during the last Aviator Brewing Late Model event.Setzer grabbed the win holding off the Performance Auto Body ride of Heigl to nail his first Wake County Speedway win. The wiley veteran,Heigl is loaded for bear and looking to end Setzers’ win steak this coming Friday night!
The Rockside Tire Legends event was a wild affair up front and the roll/flip of Dillion Spain gave the young gun a extra week to repair his machine and the car was in Charlotte the Monday after race getting repaired.Stephen Ford looked great in his debut in his Quality Lightning Protection Legend.
Young Gun Hunter Hansen came out of the box strong in his brand new Rockside Tire Bandolero and will be a man on a mission this coming Friday night. Hansen, who comes from a long line of racers has the burn in his belly and wants that checkered flag bad.Look for Hansen to be in the mix all race long.
Robert Arch has an impressive 2013 season going on at Wake County Speedway;he’s won every feature this year in the Dirt Cheap U-Car division.Looks like we need a Bounty-hunter to hunt down Robert “The Outlaw” Arch!
Please Pray for the Simpkins Family,we lost a family member yesterday,Cathy Simpkins. I’ll fondly remember Cathy kicking butt in the womens’ Powder Puff race. Godspeed Cathy Simpkins.
